Your race can be won and lost in the final week of your preparations. You have most likely been training for weeks and months, all that hard effort and hours, early mornings, tired legs and fatigue, needs to be absorbed in order for you to realise the performance benefits.

Its now time to wind down and ensure that all the supercompensation benefits can be realised on Race day. The implications of not getting your final week dialed in will be the difference between thriving or just about surviving.

Its not uncommon for athletes and recreations runners to try and “exam cram” before race day, but the reality is the fitness you have gained seven days before race day is not going to increase before the race. Adaptations and from training takes on average 8-12 days for the body to fully absorb and adapt to workloads placed upon it.

This 5 day (4 nights) retreat will enable you to optimise your final taper week to ensure you have the best possible chance of achieve your goal on race day by getting to the start line with fresh legs, a clear mind and with the ability to adapt your way thinking if and when the race does not go according to plan.
